The Award recognizes outstanding faculty who have made exceptional contributions to the university and the community

Justin Cosner, an associate professor of instruction and the director of graduate studies in the Department of Rhetoric, was selected by the Council on Teaching to receive the 2025 Hubbard-Walder Award for Excellence in Teaching.

Cosner and Sand presented at the POPMEC International Conference of US Cultures in Alcala de Henares, Spain.

This initiative is co-sponsored by the Office of the Provost and the Center for Teaching.

With support from the Excellence in Teaching and Learning and the Faculty Success SPARC committees, this new program supports teaching-focused faculty to engage with evidence-based teaching practices, develop a professional network across campus, and attend a teaching and learning conference.
